In many states, females under the age of 18 years must obtain parental consent to take the pill. Since its invention, the abortion pill has undergone a tremendous amount of scrutiny and controversy. Opponents of the abortion pill and legalizing abortion feel as though it is unethical and unsafe. This is mostly because it can be used by any female, under any circumstance, without the assistance of a medical professional. Any decision made by either candidate in the position of President concerning the abortion pill has the potential to either uphold the Roe vs. Wade decision or impair it. While impairment to the Roe versus Wade decision could only come in the way of appointing partisan influences in the positions of FDA commissioner and secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, it is an achievable possibility.
